The Tarheel Piecemakers quilt club meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month at 10 am. The meetings include a program, followed by refreshments provided by the Hostesses of the Month. Throughout the year, a few quilting workshops are held, generally on the Thursday after the Wednesday meeting and include speakers and hands on sewing.
We meet at Balfour United Methodist Church, Hwy 25 North, Hendersonville, NC. A Christmas luncheon is held each December, which includes an optional gift fabric exchange. The gathering has traditionally been held at the Cedars in Hendersonville. The fabric exchange is fun and anticipated. Each member brings one yard or four fat quarters of quality quilting fabric nicely wrapped to the luncheon. Members then choose a package and open their gift.
The newsletter, Footprints of the Tarheel Piecemakers, is published monthly. Deadline for submissions is generally the 20th of each month. Members receive newsletters by email to save on printing and postage costs.
The yearly dues are $15.00, and are payable in December or January. All paid members as of the February meeting are included in the yearbook roster. The roster is published once a year with electronic updates sent a few times a year.
